Best Room Location Standard Mermaid Rooms at Art of Animation
On my last trip to Disney Earth in April 2018, we booked four nights over at Disney's Art of Animation Resort. Information technology was the final value resort that I needed to stay at (and get the pin badge for!) at Disney Globe to say I'd stayed at every value hotel on property. I but have a few more hotels to tick off my list!
A bit of background on Fine art of Animation. Located on Hourglass Lake, information technology originally started life equally the add-on to Pop Century Resort just Disney abandoned those plans somewhere around 2001 and the site stood half built for a few years. So in 2012, information technology opened as a new value resort called Fine art of Animation which is the resort you tin stay in today.
Staying at Disney means you can get the Magical Express to and from Orlando International Airport for gratis and once you're hither, Disney buses are gratuitous to all the parks across the resort.
When you arrive at Art of Animation, y'all'll first come into the foyer which is pretty spectacular. One side is lined with concierge and check-in desks with bright multicolour gradient light panels while the other wall is filled with sketches from the 4 Disney films represented at the resort. Information technology'south pretty special. The foyer sets the tone for the entire resort which is based on the drawings and films from the four Disney movies; The Little Mermaid, The Lion Male monarch, Finding Nemo and Cars.
The Little Mermaid Rooms at Art of Animation
Nosotros stayed in the Lilliputian Mermaid section (which is the part that was congenital as part of the Pop Century expansion). It is the furthest section from the resort check-in and amenities just it's really non that far in the g scheme of things – perfectly walkable but don't worry, y'all tin park your car near at that place too. It besides has its own puddle. Rooms are motel manner with doors to the rooms on the exterior of the building. The rooms themselves are small simply comfy. In that location are two double beds (alert they are on the pocket-size side of 'double') with beat out headboards, a dressing expanse with ironing lath, a fridge, a modest safe (still fitted in my 13-inch MacBook and passports simply not a lot else) and a very under the sea themed bath. Yous can certainly tell this is one of Disney's newer resorts as the rooms are still fairly fresh. The beds were super comfortable and there's a curtain to pull over the dressing area for a scrap of extra privacy.

Note however that merely because you are not having the maid come in, a Disney cast member will still enter your room every twenty-four hours to do a security check.
Other Amenities at Art of Animation
Like with all other Disney Value Resorts, there's a huge food court called 'Landscapes of Flavors' serving many different options rather than your standard burger and chips – just look at the carte du jour! At that place'south plenty of indoor seating and a bit of outdoor. Y'all tin can inquire for takeaway boxes if you want to take food to your room or to the puddle. They besides offer the refillable drinkable mugs which are perfect if you're having a pool solar day. Other amenities at the resort include a photograph booth, laundry services, movies under the stars (Disney show a different movie on the big screen each dark in their outdoor infinite between The King of beasts King and Finding Nemo), a children's playground, Pixel Play Arcade and fishing (if that's your affair!)
At that place is as well a huge souvenir shop with lots of Disney trade bachelor. Don't forget when you lot're out shopping in the parks, if you see something but don't want to carry information technology around all twenty-four hours, yous tin can have information technology sent dorsum to your room at any Disney World resort. Other Areas of Art of Blitheness
Art of Animation has four split themed areas; The Piddling Mermaid, Cars, The Lion Male monarch and Finding Nemo. The three subsequently areas are all family suites and so much bigger than The Piddling Mermaid rooms. They're all themed incredibly well with lots of photo opportunities around the whole resort. The suites can sleep upwardly to six adults and has a bigger communal space with a sofa (which becomes a bed) and a bigger dining table and bathroom.
The Finding Nemo department is home to 'The Big Blueish Pool', Art of Animation's main pool which tin only be accessed past magic bands of those staying at the resort. It is closest to the nutrient courtroom and also has a pool bar chosen 'The Drop Off'. The Cars section also has its ain pool themed around The Cosy Cone Motel and if you're there early on enough, you lot can pocketbook yourself your own cosy cone to stay in the shade.
So would I stay at Art of Animation again? Yes, I would simply I think I'd like to try a suite next time. The theming and amenities of the hotel are brilliant although information technology still doesn't height Port Orleans Riverside which after all these years, is still my favourite Disney resort. Art of Animation will before long be accessible by the brand new Skyliner Transportation system and volition share access with Popular Century resort so that would be pretty cool to try!
